Evolution

I was walking to the bus stop the other day, and I was noticing how everyone walked similarly. Then I analyzed how strange it must be...
Not too many animals walk on their hind legs and let their arms dangle while they walk.
If I were another animal and I saw people, I would think humans were very odd.
Imagine seeing giraffes evolve into walking on their back legs?

Later in the week,
I was watching "The Blue Planet: The Deep" and it really got me wondering about evolution some more.
I don't understand how it is decided how things are going to evolve...
For example,

The fish seen here to the left lives deep in the ocean and has developed headlights created by bioluminescence on its face to act as headlights.
Losing pigmentation that low, I can totally understand, but I wish someone could explain to me how it was decided that over thousands of years, this fish would have somehow grow lights on it's face to see further. Why not create more sensitive eyes or something?

And this guy here to the right has developed eyes that can see through phosphors. It's meal is a kind of fish that covers it's bioluminescence with phosphors to hide from enemies, yet this fish has learned to just look right through it. How was it decided that it would be able to see that? I'm actually really fascinated by it all, and I wish someone could tell me. So, if you know, please comment so I can learn.:)

Time Travelling Cats

I'm starting to think my cat can time travel.
She's pretty good at not letting any of us know, but I think I'm noticing some signs...
Some days she looks like an adult cat, and other days she looks like a teenaged kitty
This is her last week:

And this is her today

I dunno... What do you think? She definitely looks younger in the second one!
Maybe it's just the picture...

I'm gonna keep my eye out for her though... if I start finding remnants of wormholes in my room: I am NOT going to be very impressed. Ok maybe a little impressed, cuz that's kind of cool, but she'd better be careful about where she's opening them, because I, for one, do not want to fall asleep, roll over, and wake up to find myself in the sidelines of a jousting tournament in the medieval times. Wait... again... that might be pretty cool for a bit, too...

Bah! There's no winning. If Eevee can time travel, then I hope she uses her gift wisely, that's all I can ask. I'll have to teach her the ethics of time travel. Those who can't do, teach! Amirite? or amirite?
